2 Timothy 2:15-16 & 3:16-17
The Word of God- all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for us- there are no mistakes in the Bible.
It is profitable for:
- Doctrine- what we believe, such as you must be born again, Jesus was born of a virgin, etc.
- Reproof- tells us what's wrong- it points our wrongs out.
- Correction- tells us not only what's wrong, but how to correct it. As we grow, the Word of God continues to correct and gives examples of how to fix it.
- Instruction in Righteousness- will give you 100% right instructions all the time. An example is the woman who was caught in the act of adultery, Jesus told those without sin cast the first stone; however, He didn't stop there, He told her to go AND SIN NO MORE.
With the Word of God, we will be equipped to go out into the world. The Word of God is like a fire- it cleanses and purifies- like gold- it separates the good from the bad.
4 Things About God's Word:
1- A hammer that judges sin. (Jeremiah 23:29) The Bible is a tool. The preacher doesn't judge sin, it's the Word of God that judges sin. It is clear in the Bible what to do, but we as humans like to pick and choose. The Bible is all or nothing. It is what it is- He is the I am that I am. The Word judges us, it shouldn't be each other.
2- A mirror that reveals sin. (James 1:23) Don't be a hearer only and not a doer of the Word. A mirror is used to show imperfections- like hair out of place or a smudge on our face, but if we don't correct that reflected flaw, then it's not the mirror that hasn't done its job.
3- A sword that defeats satan. (Hebrews 4:12) We cannot handle temptation without the Word of God. Jesus used the Scriptures in the Word of God to combat the devil's temptations. The Bible is alive and well. Satan will tell you that it's outdated, old-fashioned, boring, irrelevant, but it's not. It is living and always will be. In order to be powerful for God, we must learn the Word of God- read it, absorb it, study it & live it. We are fed by the Word of God and we grow strong by the Word of God. It is sharp- it cuts deep down into our hearts where we try to hide our sins.
4- It's a lamp that lights and guides our way. (Psalm 119) The Word of God will lead you right, never wrong. It may not be the most popular road, nor the easiest, but it will always be the right way. If you truly want to please God, get in and stay in His Word. Base your life upon the Word. It tells us all about life and what we need to know, such as who to marry, how to talk, how to work, our finances, etc.

1 Corinthians 9:24
Every athlete has discipline to be successful. The Corinthians knew all about races and racing. The
crown we're running for is not breakable, so run with certainty that you'll receive your crown. We have
a living hope. In verse 27, we are told to keep flesh under control and be disciplined. Why? So that we won't be disqualified.
Disciplined or Disqualified
Living your life like Jesus. We are to be like salt and not lose our savor.
We get disqualified because of our sin.
Disqualification:
What are we not to do (and can learn from others' examples- don't see and find out for yourself):
1- Worship Idols- you say you don't?? what about work, time, money, activities, etc. ahead of God?
2- Fornication- is a dangerous thing. Don't trade your current spouse for another- so what if extra weight is on him/her, so what if he/she is losing hair, etc.
3- Don't tempt God- There has never been a time when the elders, deacons, leaders and preachers have been disrespected by those in the church and out in the world. Nothing discredits your testimony and disqualifies you more than complaining and assaulting the House of God. Get a positive attitude.
4- Pride- when pride walks in, God walks out. He can't mold you nor work through you with pride in your heart and actions.
Discipleship:
What are we to do:
1- Realize you're not Superman- dabbling in sin will bring you down; just don't do it. Sometimes we think this little thing won't hurt, and we only realize it is dangerous when we've already fallen. An example is the man who was daily losing his hair- he didn't realize it but everyone around him did.
One morning he woke up with the one last hair on his head was on his pillow. He paniced and screamed "I'm bald, I'm bald!!!" Everyone else knew it already, he was oblivious to it until it was too late.
2- Rely totally on God- it's not a sin to be tempted. It's when we yield and give in to the temptation that it becomes sin. We don't always look for the way of escape from temptation, as promised by God.

Luke 23:26-29 The damage of feminism
While there are benefits from the feminist movement such as voting rights, there are far more damages like abortion. In the Bible, the curse of Adam's sin was to labor, produce, and provide for family, and the curse of Eve's sin was pain in childbirth. Unfortunately, some women have both burdens put upon them.
Feminism disrupts the heirarchy of the family as intended in 1 Corinthians 14. It's a shame that men haven't stood up and defended women- taught them the Bible and taken the burden of feminism away. Christian women should present themselves as Biblical Christian women in 1 Timothy 2:1-15, dressing in modesty. We shouldn't aspire to look and dress like the world. It is just as much a sin to dress for lustful attraction as it is for the man looking upon you with lust and same applies to men's dress as well.
Feminism discredits the Bible's teachings of women. It takes work for the relationship of husbands and wives. All three- the relationship, the husband, and the wife take work and care. Husbands must take care of wives, wives the husband, and the relationship. Through things like the feminist movement, the priviledge, duty, and responsibility of wives being at home has been distorted. Juggling things like work, vacations, cars, etc. are likened to rubber balls, we can drop one and it will bounce and come back to play later. But juggling those in with things like our relationship, marriage, spouse, etc. are likened to glass, we can drop one and it is permanently damaged and altered. Some things are easy come easy go, but our relationship with Christ and with our spouse shouldn't be juggled in with all others.
